Tufted Titmouse

Titmousies are common on the Cape. Most of them where I live are tame enough to land in your hand and chew some seeds

So of course I wanted to paint it.

Progress Photos:

BAM!

Here's my pallet. I've been making an effort to use less than my normal 37flavors of tints tones and shades.

But I did use silver, blue interference, and titanium white for the background. Which makes the bird seem slightly more real in certain lighting.

Or just simply suited to the right room.

That is so fun that your local birds are so tainted by humans. I want to feed the birds some time! The one you got on your hand looks like a chickadee.

It is a chickadee, b/c the titmousies were skiddish that day.
